Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)

Do any of these situations feel familiar to you?

At times, nothing around me feels real...

Sometimes I feel detached from my body....

I feel confused at times, and it is like I have lost periods of time....

I keep having mood swings, anxiety and panic attacks....

Sometimes I have suicidal thoughts and feelings and want to self harm....

If you do experience any of the above it can feel very confusing and overwhelming, or perhaps you feel ashamed that you can not seem to control what is going on and are scared that it will always be like this.

I am trained to work with people who suffer disassociation and can help you to learn how to manage the triggers associated with any trauma you may have experienced.  Disocciation is a coping mechanism that some people have had to develop to manage the difficulties that were experienced in their lives.  Within time and with compassion for self and awareness gained through your counselling sessions it is likely to be possible to develop more resilience and tools to keep yourself safe and in your body.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of counselling, please complete the contact form below or leave a message on either of the numbers below and I will get back to you within 48 hours to discuss what might be the right next step.
